about sara timberlake
I’m an architectural designer by training, an urban sketcher by practice, and a firm believer that a sketchbook is the best memory keeper, on travels far, far away and in the day-to-day rhythms of life.
I started Committed Lines because I know how it feels when travel goes by so fast that you barely remember it. Instead of rushing through a city or filling your camera roll with forgettable photos that you'll probably never look back at, my goal is to help you slow down, observe your surroundings, and deeply experience the world through accessible urban sketching.
If you’ve ever thought, “I want to draw, but I’m not good enough,” or felt intimidated by “fine art,” you are exactly where you belong :) Beginner is a great place to start. Here, sketching is a mindfulness tool and a way to feel more present. It is about presence, not performance.
Whether you are looking to be more creative, looking for like-minded creative folks, or absolutely starting from scratch, my desire for you is to provide a safe space to share art, grow, and connect.
Let's strip away the perfectionism.
Commit to the line, not the outcome.
Let's learn to see deeply, together.
